A WORD FROM OUR FLORIDA SUPPORT GROUP LEADERS

Our Wednesday LiL meeting was really good, I thought. The topic was “Wisdom,” our last in the list of 16. Exciting!

We had 15 men throughout the meeting. There has been a change for the better, it seems to me. I see it strongly in the men’s journals we read before the meeting, and it is very noticeable in the depth and nature of the talking and questioning and discussing before and during the meeting.  By these words I don’t mean that things were bad or shallow previously. I just mean it looks to me that God is working on and in us.

We are growing. God is growing us. I also think it’s related to troubles we have. He grows us through them.
It seems we all do have troubles. For our group, often TROUBLES.  How can God allow that? Use it for good??
Maybe that isn’t surprising to someone looking on theoretically.  But it is really something to perceive it before your eyes in your Friends and Brothers (and self). The Lord’s Words and Life in us!

Because of our new men and visitors, we went over the background of LiL, how the meetings are constructed and the meaning and purpose of TACE.  No problem.

We covered the basic points of the meeting without any problem.
Once again, we gave a central place to simple but meaningful questions and several Scriptures.
The questions were:

Why do you need wisdom?
How does a person like you or me get true wisdom?
How big of a deal is it, really.

Our Scriptures were Proverbs 1:1-7 (Proverbs is a book to convey God’s Wisdom!), 1 Kings 3:5-12 (How Solomon came to have God’s Wisdom.) and Colossians 2:2-3 (Living Wisdom in Christ!)

The purpose was to make this subject real, personal, inviting, within reach and in God’s plan for each of us. I think the visitors are likely struggling now with life-controlling issues.  One is wanting to get into a Christian program now.

Lots of discussion. Very significant contributions from many people, as well as the readings. I thought there was a good balance between leaders and members.

I thought the time was particularly powerful in that we weren’t there just to go through the motions, but to meet with, hear from, and follow our Lord.  We need Him.  He has blessed us greatly, we remember!  We need Him to help us with our “now”!  Without His Way in our future, we will be lost, but with it, we will again be Blessed!

Good meeting.  A Blessing!

Our LIFEiLEAD™ Support Groups are volunteer-driven and the group leaders are committed to working with the group members to help guide them along the path of recovery. Many of our group leaders have been through addiction and recovery themselves, and all of them have been through our training and development program. Our goal is to plant multiple LIFEiLEAD™ Support Group Programs in communities, churches, transitional homes, and prisons for those struggling with drugs and alcohol.

While our groups are free for those who attend, there are upfront and ongoing costs to provide the necessary training and materials to effectively plant, lead, and sustain the LSG Programs. Not every location where we plant our program has the finances to fully cover the cost of our Program.

Please consider partnering with us with a monthly or one-time donation for 2015 to help reach our goal of $25,000. Your generous donations will go towards helping communities, churches, transitional homes, and prisons in need of the

LIFEiLEAD™ Support Group Program. This effort to generate support for the LIFEiLEAD™ program will allow us to continue to provide help to individuals and families

With your help, we can continue to play a significant role to ensure the continuation and success of these vital services.
